The "smUv grUvs" side of this Big SAD tape has a wider variety of recording and editing aspects than others from this pair of screeching dinosaur 3D theme park ride attendants on acid. Sudden warbled goofy rapping, caveman drum high-caloric verse, some surprisingly smooth rythms merged perfectly with frenetic tape recorded meanderings. Almost has an industrial feel at times and at other moments a heavenly glow opens a portal to our eternal essences. Flipping the tape you discover a wholly different sound coming from Big SAD. A live Halloween party performance in Be Rock's basement finds the boys plastered and getting more so over the course of these three and six-eighth songs. Appearing on this side is a recording of a cover of The Big Bads classic song "Gangs!" during which a guy in an Eeyore costume came in to the party and was dancing like a drunk mule. He hee-hawed his way into the album artwork and our hearts! The real treat on this is the mega double song plus dance interlude "Teleport / Rathasaur." This little gem is an import presented by a fine denizen of the infamous HOUSE HOUSE, Mr. Rob "Terror'ish" Beckham. Coincidentally enough, HOUSE HOUSE was the location of the first ever Big SAD show, where the audience called out "Gangs!" and were let down when the duo didn't have it prepared (first show ever, not many songs ready), so it became part of the act. Rob made all the brilliant artwork inspired mostly by "Gangs!" including a hypercolored collage of scenes from the Halloween performance. Be Rock in his pterodactyl costume gracefully flaps his wings and extra pair of legs on the cover of this bagged tape, which includes two collectible Big SAD trading cards, a mini-poster, and a pamphlet on how to keep your neighborhood gang-free!
