I'd hate to start this sounding cliché, but there really is something for
everyone on "Return of the Spooky King". From the half-crackling
mystic chant at the beginning, to the seasoned lullaby / calamity broadcast
ending, this tape throws rocks over mountains. Wearing deliberate faces,
the eastern Tennessee duo of Benny, the Church Mouse present an easy-on-the-ears
sound full of that "yeah" feeling, never too afraid to keep it
short yet poignant, force lovelorn robots to divulge their primary function,
or grab the mic and muster gold. Program repeats on both sides so you can
flip it and dip it... again! Packaged in an unassuming lace ribboned red
crayola striped graph paper false cover sleeve hovering around a shiny traditional
black bottomed plastic tape case with a somewhat professionally designed
looking frontspiece on which is simply printed the album's information,
the cassette awaits multiple listens. Dubbed to so-dubbed "Professional
Cassettes" and hand stamped with the band's name.
